Warranty Vault ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Email address and password (hashed) when you register
• Warranty data: Product names, purchase dates, expiry dates, store names, and receipt images you upload
• Usage data: Number of receipt scans used, subscription status
• Payment information: Payment is processed by Paddle — we never store your credit card details

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the App and its features
• Send warranty expiry reminders and notifications
• Process subscription payments via Paddle
• Improve the App and fix bugs
• Respond to customer support requests

3. Receipt Scanning and OCR

When you use the receipt scanning feature, your receipt image is sent to Google Cloud Vision API for text recognition. Images are processed in real-time and are not stored by Google beyond the immediate API request. The extracted text is used solely to auto-fill your warranty form.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled — meaning only you can access your own data. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only with:

• Supabase: Our database and authentication provider
• Google Cloud Vision: For receipt OCR processing
• Paddle: For payment processing and subscription management

Each of these providers has their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

The App uses local storage to maintain your login session and preferences (such as theme settings). No third-party tracking cookies are used.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your warranty data
• Cancel your subscription at any time

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
